It is useful in the N-alkylation (of sulfonamides, beta-lactams, indoles, heterocycles, and several sensitive nitrogen compounds), carbamination of amines, carbonylation of alcohols, and aerobic oxidation of alcohols into carbonyl compounds without over oxidations.
