Bis-tris propane, or 1,3-bis(tris(hydroxymethyl)methylamino)propane, also known as BTP, is a chemical substance that is used in buffer solutions.
B 1927 (OTTO) Bis-Tris propane, 99% Cas 64431-96-5 - used as a buffer for polymerase chain reaction and molecular biology. It is also used with hydrochloric acid buffer for stabilization of farnesyl diphosphate isolated from a strain of saccharomyces cerevisiae. It acts as a ligand and forms dinuclear hydroxo complexes with Lanthanides(III).
