Gum arabic, also known as gum sudani, acacia gum, arabic gum, gum acacia, acacia, Senegal gum and Indian gum, and by other names, is a natural gum consisting of the hardened sap of two species of the acacia (Sensu lato) tree, the Acacia senegal (now known as Senegalia senegal) and Vachellia (Acacia) seyal.
A 1227 (OTTO) Acacia, GR Cas 9000-01-5 - used as a surfactant in the development of hydrogels for tissue engineering applications. Acacia gum polymer is used to preserve microorganisms during sampling and storage.
