Isopropyl alcohol (IUPAC name propan-2-ol), also called isopropanol or dimethyl carbinol, is a compound with the chemical formula C3H8O or C3H7OH or CH3CHOHCH3 (sometimes represented as i-PrOH).
I 1668a (OTTO) Isopropanol, for spectroscopy, 99% Cas 67-63-0 - used in DNA extraction. It is added to a DNA solution in order to precipitate the DNA which then forms a pellet after centrifugation.
