Description

Ethyl 4-bromobenzoate undergoes reduction with potassium diisobutyl-t-butoxyAluminium hydride (PDBBA) at 0°C to yield aldehydes. Reaction of ethyl 4-bromobenzoate and substituted benzyl chloride with zinc dust and a Pd catalyst is reported.
